How to survive home quarantine?
Home quarantine is extremely important during a pandemic. It helps us stay safe and protect others by not contributing to spreading the virus, and making it vanish. However, things are easier said than done, as quarantine means staying at home and aborting your daily activities for an undefined time. Many tips could circulate on the internet helping us to make quarantine feel easier. Since watching movies and chilling on the sofa could become a boring task faster than you could think, how can we survive home quarantine? In this article, we will give you some healthy tips.
1- Complete your unfinished tasks
How many times, when you were busy, you thought that you could need a few minutes of free time to do some tasks. Now that we are at home with plenty of time on our hands, make a list of these tasks and start finishing them one after the other. Start by the closets that need to be cleaned and tidied or the spring-cleaning you always wished you could do. It could be finishing a book or writing your diary. Whatever your task is now is the right time to complete it.
2- Take on a hobby
Sure being stuck inside could make it hard for you to learn anything new, but what about things that do not require space or going out of the house? Learn a new language, or take an online course. If you have, a musical instrument in your house, you can teach yourself using internet resources, how to play it. You could start writing your novel, or even practice cooking. Quarantine is the perfect period to learn something useful.
3- Work out
You might be unable to reach your gym or go outside for a run, but even if you are stuck in your room, working out can still be possible. Find yourself a program on the internet or refer to this home workout guide, to make the best out of your quarantine. You can use some alternatives to gym equipment from around the house such as water bottles for dumbbells.
4- Eat healthily
If you lead a busy life, you might find yourself eating unhealthy food quite frequently. Now that you have more free time, use it to cook healthy recipes and plan your meals. Include proteins and fiber in your recipes to feel fuller for longer periods and avoid binging and eating more than you should. This could also help you lose weight, and/or avoid gaining weight.
5- Come closer to nature
If you have a green space or a garden in your house take advantage of it to plant something nice. However, if you do not you can still use plastic containers to plant something nice on your balcony. It can be something simple like a flower, or a plant, or a small tree. Gardening can make you feel calmer and in peace with yourself.
